The Glenisa cowherd was established in 1997 using a selection of the leading Angus genetics available. These included females from Merrigrange Wilcoola, Noranda Showgirl, Te Mania Panda, Newham Park Erica, and DSK Mona.

Since that time the herd has evolved into a low maintenance, efficient and maternal group of females.

When breeding and selecting replacement females we remain focused on retaining certain traits; most importantly, fertility.

To achieve this we have implemented a short nine-week joining period for cows and a positive single AI on maiden females to progress into the herd.

In addition females from their first calving on, need to be of good conformation, with correct udder shape and teat size.

This is paramount to the ongoing health and development of the herd. Females are not culled for age, only productivity.
